Cromer Waughlords December 08 2012
In a close match in great conditions Cromer won 112 runs to 97 runs at Nolan’s Reserve.
Well done boys and all team members contributed in this win with a full strength side playing, thanks to Lennox who arrived late Friday night from Fiji (one lucky and very tanned guy!) to top score with 30 runs and also snagged 1 wicket and 1 catch. You should go there more often mate!
Great effort by Conor with 21 runs and 2 catches including one great diving effort at square leg, Jordan Barrett 18 runs and Harrison 17 runs played a nice 42 run opening partnership. Great running between wickets helped us along and Cromer had 112 runs to defend.
Well done to ALL the bowlers and a committed fielding effort by the entire team, Jordan McPherson 2/9 and Choegyl 2/8 led a great bowling effort with the wickets being shared amongst 7 bowlers and everyone having tight figures.
Welcome back ‘The Doppler’ with great bowling and an excellent fielding effort to save 4 runs.
Max King and Nathan Van Buuren are bowling well in their first seasons and Nathan has saved many runs patrolling the boundary.
With 6 overs to go and St Augustine’s needing 30 runs to win, Harrison with 0/8 off 3 overs and Cam and the Jordan’s bowling tight and taking wickets with a good fielding effort, (Jack and Hayden saving several runs) we capped of a good effort today with the win.
Thanks boys and St Augustine’s for a close match and well done Cromer!
