U13 Cromer Kings - Angus O'Donnell December 08 2012

Batting first Cromer looked to get quick runs, however many shots were caught in the St Matts sand trap. Tenkyong Tenzin (9) was out in the 5th over and Nick Corcoran followed in the next over. Kyle Martin (retired 26no) was joined by Lachlan Scheffers (retired 33no). Ben Quinn (7), Ethan Jenkins (7) kept the runs ticking over before Jake De Angelis scored (13) from one over leaving Nathan Hogg (13no) and Adam Hayes (1no) to take the total to 5 for 131.

In reply excellent bowling by Angus O’Donnell (2/2) including a wicket maiden, James Schulenburg (1/9), Adam Hayes (1/10) and Nathan Hogg (1/5) had St Augustines 5 for 27 at the end of the 12 over. With only 1 more wicket before the drinks break there were cracks appearing in the normally good fielding. At the 15th over half way mark the total was 6 for 49. Unfortunately no more wickets could be taken and St Augustines reached 132 in the 27th over scoring at almost 7 runs an over in the last 12 overs.

Angus O’Donnell was player of the day for excellent bowling running up the hill and through the sand trap. The team will need more of this and a significant improvement in fielding when they take on the first place team next game.
