Cromer BBQs Play of the Day - Andrew Wyllie December 08 2012
The previous week Cromer had made an impressive start to their run chase, having acquired 45 runs of the 147 needed before losing their first wicket. But the passage of play that followed for the next 15 overs saw just 20 more runs added to the total, but for the loss of 4 additional wickets. This collapse was to set the tone for the remainder of the run chase on Day 2. The BBQs could never really get going in chasing the remaining 83 runs, and eventually incurred their first defeat in 6 matches by a margin of 15 runs.
Under such joyless circumstances, the Play of the Day goes to Andrew Wyllie, who, as one of the two not out batsmen continuing their innings on the first ball of the second week, managed to arrive at the ground prior to the scheduled starting time for the first time this season. A truly remarkable effort.
