Playing for Manly Warringah at representative level is an honour and all these players should be congratulated for their commitment to the game. Cromer has been at the forefront of pushing for rule changes that ensure participation for all players in the local junior competition. Due to the dedication and work of the Cromer Cricket Club committee it is important to acknowledge that this has resulted in an increase in junior players and teams entered in the local MWJCA competition. Cromer has a proud tradition of player participation, whilst also having players selected at representative level. It was great to see Jack Richie, a Cromer junior, once again hit a century this season playing 1st Grade for Manly, scoring 128 Vs Northern District. He followed this up with a brilliant 84 in a T20 game the following day.

Our open senior Martin Shield players Michael, Scott and Brett are also representing Cromer in the MWCA Mike Pawley T20 Cup. This team made the Grand Final last season narrowly beaten by Collaroy Plateau in a count back on 6’s scored. Let’s hope they can go one better this year. So far they have won 2 from 2. Their next game is on Sunday 16 December commencing 3pm at Griffith Park, Long Reef. Hope to see all the Cromer Cricket community down there to support the team and watch the red ball fly over the boundaries.
