Cromer BBQs Play of the Day - Dan Waygood November 17 2012
The first match of the second rotation of the round robin provided the BBQs with an opportunity to avenge their first round defeat at the hands of Harbord BC. Winning the toss was a nice piece of fortune, and although the opening partnership was not a great one, the team managed to take their score to 70 before the loss of the 2nd wicket.
After the addition of just 19 more runs, however, Dan Waygood strode to the crease as his Cromer team-mates waited with anticipation.
After surviving a testing period early in his inning which saw the loss of two further BBQs wickets, Dan set about dismantling the Harbord BC attack with strokes to all corners of Harbord Park. Seven boundaries and two 6s later, Dan was finally removed from the crease but not before having added 86 runs for the 7th wicket in being the 8th man out with the score on 216 of an eventual total of 233.
