Cromer won the toss and elected to bat first. In damp conditions and against a depleted opposition of 7 players, Jake De Angelis and Angus O’Donnell showed true sportsmanship to volunteer to field for Wakehurst. Lachlan Scheffers (23) and Kyle Martin got the team off to a great start, with Tenkyong Tenzin (8), Joel Mule (1) the team was 3 for 96 off 15 overs. Kyle contributed with 56 not out hitting nine 4’s. James Schulenburg (27 no), Ben Quinn (0) and Nick Corcoran (23no) brought the total to 4 for 151 after 23 overs in a rain shortened innings. Special mention also to the other boys that volunteered to field for the opposition; Adam, Lachlan, Kyle, Ben and in particular Ethan Jenkins who held onto a catch to dismiss Tenkyong.

In reply, the bowling was terrific with Angus bowling 3 maidens, Nick 2 for 4 off 3 overs. Jake bowled well in wet conditions with spin difficult. Adam Hayes picked up 2 for 5 off his 3 overs and the game ended with Wakehurst all out for 31. Play of the day was Kyle hitting two 4’s off his last over to reach a half century and finish on 56no.
